Joplin Tornado

We live about an hour from Joplin. We got rain and high winds here...lots of lightning. We are fine, as is Springfield. We were actually on I-44 when all this was happening. The interstate was closed down further west of us...we didn't know what was happening until we got home.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Joplin, who lost a third of its structures and over 100 people killed. The deadliest tornado in the United States since 1947.
It's supposed to keep raining and flooding for the next few days. We all need a bit of a break.
Took this around 7:30 with my phone...it was incredible.

  1. My heart goes out to the people in Joplin too. I live in Kansas City and have been to Joplin several times. I've been glued to the news this evening and it just breaks my heart to see all the destruction and hear of all the lives lost.

  2. We live in Northwest Arkansas, so we're also close. It was very tough to see the destruction in Joplin. We're just praying that rescuers will be able to find everyone that may be trapped or injured. This has been some crazy weather.
