I thought I would share with you what I ate today. I've started my yeast free diet, to be on for the next six weeks. There are various reasons for this diet. The number one is to rid my body of yeast. This means I have to cut out everything that could help it grow, replenish it, etc. This includes antibiotics.
I did have a final cup of coffee with steamed milk this morning. I had a bad night and that's all I could think of! Tomorrow morning I will be trying coconut milk in my coffee...I'll let you know.
Breakfast: leftover steamed brown rice with 1/4 cup of sliced raw almonds and 1/2 an apple chopped up, with a small amount of evaporated goat milk and xylitol. This would have been delicious except for the G milk. It really ruined the whole bowl and I felt sick after I ate it.
Lunch: Large organic lettuce salad, grated zucchini, chopped tomatoes, a sprinkle of rice cheese, 1/2 cup of chopped turkey breast, homemade dressing with oil and vinegar.
Water
Tea with lemon and xylitol
Dinner: Grilled cod with lots of garlic and lemon from my tree in Cali, 1/2 cup of brown rice noodles w/ olive oil, sliced zucchini, avacado and tomato salad on lettuce.
Tea with xylitol (and a smidge of milk...I know!)
2 brown rice cakes w/ a dollop of raw almond butter.
That's it. I'm quite astonished. I was dying of hunger while making dinner tonight. I made chicken and potatoes for the Fam.
I also took my supplements, which also include a probiotic that I take in the a.m. I'm trying to drink as much water as possible. Which should help flush out the bronchitis too.
Not bad for my first day I'd say. I stopped myself from licking the spoon when I gave the kids yogurt, and from eating hot buttered toast that I made for Darcy for her pre-bedtime snack.
I hope I can keep this up. After two weeks I can have potatoes again and legumes and other non-wheat flours such as arrowroot, buckwheat, potato flour, etc.
The hardest thing is not putting milk in my tea. It just tastes too strong without it. I guess I'll have to find an herbal tea that I like. I spent way too much at the health food store today. I have to go shopping tomorrow for the weekend and stock up on veggies. You won't believe it but I paid $2 for an organic zucchini today!!! Shocker!!!
More tomorrow on the yeast free aspect of my life. Only 5 weeks and 6 days to go!!!
I have a great list of recipes to try, including a blueberry muffin with no eggs, dairy or wheat!

Hi Sarah! I am definitely a "milk in my tea" girl. :) I've started drinking Tazo's Zen green tea and really love it. I only put a little splenda in it - it definitely doesn't call out for milk. Good luck with your new eating plan and take care.
